"Laurie Fisher" born in Canberra and is currently the Gloucester Rugby head coach.

He began his coaching career with the Brumbies in 2000 when he was appointed Head Coach of the Brumbies Rugby Academy and later assumed control of the Brumby Runners and the Canberra Vikings. He implemented a rugby program aimed at developing the cream of local Australian Capital Territory/ACT rugby talent into players capable of competing for training contracts or full contracts with the ACT Brumbies/Brumbies squad. Guy Shepherdson, Matt Giteau and Julian Salvi all made successful transitions to the professional game under his guidance.

In 2003, Laurie was promoted to the Brumbies forwards coach under David Nucifora and contributed to their success as 2004 Super 12 Champions.

George is as motivated as he has ever been. He's really excited about this season.

Around the ruck they certainly defend differently, but having watched just that one trial, it's hard to say precisely what they're aiming at.

A lot of the things he can do, no-one else can do. He gives you options no-one else can give you, so you take advantage of what he offers.

He's just pulled up with a slight groin strain after last week's game, but he should be fine to train at our captain's run on Thursday.

I think everybody will be primed for a good performance. And I guess I'd rather have experienced players who've been there and done that than a whole host of players who haven't. I'd rather be in our shoes than their shoes.

I'm not sure he left to play fullback. He could have stayed with us and contended for a fullback or wing place.

Certainly at this stage, all he has to do is just play the appropriate football during the Super 14 and I'll certainly back him to have a very good (competition).

You've really got to be on your bike for this game.

George's defensive work this year has been absolutely fantastic. If you look at the amount of work he puts in during a game, it's phenomenal.
