It looked like a mirror image of our boys' game, except we couldn't make shots late.

Her scoring numbers are actually a little down from last year. Part of it is because we have other players who can score, but the main reason is that Jessi has focused on getting her teammates more involved.

Denali does a great job of applying ball-pressure. She's obviously quick and she works hard, but she's also very smart. We like to use her against the opposing team's point guard. She creates turnovers and really disrupts their offensive flow.

We played with a little more intensity on defense, that's for sure. We didn't do anything differently than (Wednesday), but today we had a little more bounce in our step.

We just didn't get after them on defense. That big girl is pretty solid, she can play.

We played well in spurts. I thought our second quarter (20-4) was pretty strong, and we maintained that lead through the end.

I don't think it was too little, too late. We just couldn't shoot. We're better than that. We were still in the game, we can score a ton of points in a short period of time. When it got under two minutes, that's when I knew that was it. If we could have gotten back-to-back baskets, maybe we could have gotten it going.

Kayla has a very good all-around game. Offensively, she's dangerous because she can score from the outside or take the ball to the basket. She can rebound and she plays good defense.

I think they thought they were playing hard, but there's more ---- a lot more. A lot more.
