Through high school, college I've always been known as a heady football player. (At Michigan) we ran a very NFL-style defense and my defensive coordinator and linebacker coach (Jim) Herrmann threw a lot at us. He made me a student of the game and made me think and showed me the ins and outs.

I want to get better, that's first and foremost. Mr. Rooney and the organization paid me so I gotta perform now. Last year there wasn't as much pressure on me because they didn't know what to expect. Now I want to make sure that they know they made the right choice.

I haven't seen him drop one. Not one.

This defense could be one of the best you've seen. For a long time.

The guys always remind me of that. I wasn't ready. I think it was more physical but that was a long time ago. I learned a lot. That was the first time ever in my career in any sport that a lot of finger pointing came my way. Coach Cowher took me out of the game and that was something new for me but that woke me up. That day probably made me become a professional.

It's true. They do have a lot of new guys. But they still have Steve McNair. With Steve McNair, they're always going to have a chance. I mean, he's the kind of quarterback who can dominate a game.

I've always been smart but you know how it is just doing enough to be in the middle of the pack. But you know what? When it's time to work, it's time to work.

Trash talk? Oh yeah, I can handle my own. I come from Detroit. That's all we do. I can talk with the [best] of 'em.

They might not think that this guy is very intelligent.
