That's not the way they go about things.

I can't say I'm shocked.

We asked Charles to be the anchor in the middle for our team. He is a tenacious and aggressive defender and he would deny his opponent in the middle and also has great defensive skills.

Alex is having a stellar season. He is starting to develop a complete game and gain an understanding of being a leader on the floor. He has always been a pretty talented guy on offense, but he was scoring for us in a Kobe and Iverson-like way in the past. He's creating opportunities for others now.

We had parameters set for him. One was to be a good student and there were other guidelines. If I looked the other way, it wouldn't be right for the team. It's the first time in my 28 years as a coach that I did something like this. It was a difficult decision.

I don't think it was a real strong commitment. I think it was done more or less to ease the recruiting pressure on him and his family.

These guys are unbelievably good kids. They are quality people and their best basketball is still ahead of them.
