It started off well. I wish I had ended better.

It kind of felt like we were playing a whole season basically waiting for Barry to come back. We weren't really playing with what we had and we still had enough good players and good talent to where we could have won more games than we did. ... It's going to be nice to have if Barry does stay healthy all year. Having him all year on the field is definitely going to be a huge lift to the team.

I feel like I can pitch at the major-league level and I think they know that.

It's a great competition, and that's all you can ask for. I'm feeling great this spring, and I want to make the team in whatever role I get.

I'm still looking for that great outing.

Making the rotation is my goal. Today I was able to get ahead of most of the hitters and that makes for short innings. That's been a problem for me the past few years.

I threw the [pitch] high, just not high enough, ... If I could have made a perfect flip, it would have saved us a run.

I hadn't pitched in a game in a couple of weeks, and I didn't know where it was going. My mechanics were bad; I was rusty as could be. I just didn't have a good feel for the game. I could understand a little rust, but it wasn't what I was looking for.
