I thought we did a good job against them in the first quarter. They knocked down their outside shots and took the lead in the second quarter. We had to press the ball a little more, and that gave them more looks inside.

We were able to score in transition in the second half. We weren't hitting shots in the first half. Mars struggled with our traps in the second half and we never let up.

Our defense was the key in the first half. We didn't let any single one of their players get hot and take over the game.

How much more pressure can you give the kid. She stepped up to the challenge. Midway through the season, her starting spot was challenged, which forced her to work harder and she earned it back.

She's the type of player who not only scores and rebounds, but does a lot of things that don't get in the books. She's really stepped up when we needed her to and she helped establish our inside game.

They made a run and we kept it close. We had our chances down the stretch. I give them a ton of credit.

It has been (typical) throughout the playoffs and the last part of our section play that we've had balanced scoring.

She is the best high school player I've seen in a very long time. I like to think we're a decent half-court defensive team. It depends on our opponent ... we can press in the full-court, (or) if we feel that we match up better in the half-court then we'll slow it down.

That's why they're No. 1 in the state. We came out hot hitting our jump shots, but we knew they would make their run. Once they get a lead, it's tough to catch them.
