There are strict guidelines. If they violate that agreement they can lose their right to obtain the information.

They will have to provide documentation for these expenditures and show they are appropriate. They need to provide information on who they spent the money on, and for what committee, candidate or ballot question.

We're government. We do it at taxpayer expense so information is available to the public.

There are some companies that use it for a direct mail piece they have within a community.
