This is why people love to play in a place like Toronto. This is what (Gretzky) goes through every day.
We couldn't quite get it done again. We played hard. But we game them too many chances and whatever chances we gave them were pretty quality ones. They did a good job taking advantage of that.
It's been a while since I've scored, period. To have two goals in a game, I think I had two all of last year (in the American Hockey League). It's been a while, definitely. To get the winner was nice. It's fun for me and a big goal for our team.
I don't get to score that often, so when I do it's fun. And to get the game-winner, it's exciting.
I was passing the puck to the right guys tonight. The guys were going to the net and when you do that you get some bounced like that.
The bottom line is you're out there to score goals and when you don't do that, you're not doing your job.
I thought we had a good situation going for us on that late 5-on-3. We couldn't get much going. That is kind of what happens in hockey. You try to make the most of your opportunities and limit the opposition.
It's a memorable time for me. At the same time, it's nice to have gotten that out of the way and move forward.
I'll always keep it. I'm very grateful they drafted me and it's something I'll always remember. But I've moved on from that and I don't think there's anything I need to prove to them.
