A resident of Wellington, he finished 6th in the men's marathon race at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. He has the best performance by a resident in New Zealand for the half marathon of 1h 02m 37s set 2 June 2002 in Christchurch. He also holds two New Zealand records in athletics for road races, with 13:46 for 5 km, and 28:04 for 10 km. With 5 wins he is currently in 4th place for the best ever list at the Red Bull Dolomitenmann.

This is an incredible buzz. I rate this with coming down the finishing straight at the Olympics Games (where he has run in two marathons). There were just that many people, making that much noise.
