There are things we can do in our new major that will benefit our students. They will come out of here with [top rate] ESL or Special Education training. It's just exciting to be a part of that.

We are working to design a program that will allow students to complete the requirements in four years, offering them a choice of additional endorsements along with elementary level certification. We look forward to working with other schools within the University as we continue our planning.

It is important for us to do everything right and to do it well. We want to do this in a way that benefits students, and if we do this, the folks in Arts and Sciences will support our efforts.
