We were kind of heading south after dropping four in a row during the weekend, so this is definitely huge for us. It was probably the best we've played all season, offensively, defensively, pitching-wise and coaching-wise. Now we've just got to build on this and put something positive together.

In the game of baseball, you learn real quick that sometimes you get the big hit, and sometimes you don't. Today, we didn't.

I thought Rey had the best stuff he's had all year - no-hitter type of stuff.

All we can do is work at it and continue to try to get better. I still believe in these kids, but it was a frustrating weekend. But it's a long season. We didn't play well, and we're also having some bad luck. But in a long season the luck tends to even out. We'll be OK.

Nick was really struggling early, and we were thinking about taking him out. But we didn't have a lot of options because we had played so many games lately. Something must have clicked in for him though, because after the first inning he was fine.

That's where it all starts. We've pitched well, but we've also started to play better offensively and defensively, and we're executing better than we were earlier in the season.

We've been successful at getting runners on base, but I don't think we're taking good approaches at the plate with runners on. That's one area we need to improve in.

I thought that was a turning point. We would have scored the go-ahead run on that play, but after that happened, I thought our intensity level really picked up.

A good week no doubt. It doesn't make our situation quite as desperate. We've put ourselves back into a position where we can control our fate.
