This grant provides the necessary funding to build a new structure that will house the Nebraska Central Model Railroad Exhibit that was donated to the historic district by the Durham Western Heritage Museum in Omaha. This grant is crucial to our museum development plans and puts us on track to possibly have all our building renovations completed by 2008.

We want to ensure that our facility is marketable to the general public and provides the informal learning experiences they are seeking when they travel. The interpretation plan will provide our framework for permanent and temporary exhibits, K-12 educational classes, adult lifelong learning programs, festivals and special events.
