" John Ward Spear" was a British Liberal Unionist Party/Liberal Unionist politician.

He was elected at the United Kingdom general election, 1900/1900 general election as Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tavistock (UK Parliament constituency)/Tavistock division of Devon, with a majority of only 15 votes. He was defeated at in United Kingdom general election, 1906/1906 by his Liberal Party (UK)/Liberal Party predecessor Hugh Luttrell (Liberal politician)/Hugh Luttrell, but cut Luttrell's majority in United Kingdom general election, January 1910/January 1910 and defeated him at the United Kingdom general election, December 1910/December 1910 general election. He did not contest the United Kingdom general election, 1918/1918 general election, and retired from Parliament of the United Kingdom/Parliament.
