"John William Hollins" Order of the British Empire/MBE is a retired England/English Association football/footballer and manager. He was initially a midfielder who, later in his career, became an effective Defender (association football)#Full-back/full back.

Hollins's son, Chris Hollins was the main sports presenter on BBC Breakfast.

It's no good playing well one week and rubbish the next. We need the consistency or you will get fans saying that they should have been here the week before and not coming back.

It's just such waste. He was a fighter as well - when he finished football, a lot of people feel sorry for themselves, he got on with it and made a good business. He was a big character. He always had a good word for everybody.

The difference was the size of the squad; we had a squad of around 18 players and if any were missing you had to switch players from different positions. That doesn't happen here now. The team I played in and this team were similar in some ways but we didn't sustain it.
