We generally think that democracy works best when citizens can cast an informed vote. To willfully refuse to provide that information and say, 'Well, send me a bill,' seems to me to be deeply undemocratic.
It does strike me as too close a relationship.
We are not avid rail fans. We are essentially tourists travelling around the country to see things, using rail as the prime means of transport wherever possible.
