We talked about putting the ball in play and battling against Cedric. Early in the game, we hit the ball hard but they made great defensive plays, and the wind blowing in might have affected a couple of balls we hit well.

Last week we were happy to finish second in the tournament. Now today we're disappointed that we didn't win. They're a great team and I think we're still a little behind, but not too far. We're a pretty good 6-5 team.

Sean did a great job changing speeds against a lineup 1-9 that is as tough as you will see. He made them swing the bat, and then you make some plays and it gives the pitcher confidence.

Brian did an outstanding job. He pitched as hard today as he ever has. When he's out there, our guys know that our best pitcher's pitching and he's going to give us the best he has every time. I wasn't real worried about him and the wind. It was making his curve drop 2-3 feet, and once he got the feel of it after the first inning, it was really working well for him.

Losing Grant was a key in this game. Dan was nervous out there and made an error early on, but then he made 3-4 great plays. He didn't give us the offense Grant would have, but we didn't expect him to. He came in and played defense the way we wanted.

I thought he was done. I thought it might be a broken ankle or possibly his knee.

We had six hits, but we couldn't bunch any together. We had the bases loaded with one out in the sixth and scored only one run.

Cedric (Redmond) and Brian (Stroud) both looked free and easy. Brian was in control all the way.

The game ended with a bases loaded, line-drive double play, so we were right there.
