They sent me a letter. I wish I would have kept it. It said we'll let you try out if you get accepted to school. I didn't get accepted to school.

More Jimmy Conrad on Wikipedia. He puts the fires out before they start. He's had so much experience that any time a play happens, he always seems to make the right decision. That's something I just soak up.
It's just a learning curve and once I get adjusted to it, I just kind of start to grow within that. Each step, I've been kind of doing the same thing.
There is no rush. If you put a gun to my head, I could probably play this weekend. This [season] is a marathon, not a sprint.
I was like, well, there goes my chance.
I kind of just take it one step at a time. When I got into college and once I got to see that I could play with the guys at UCLA, I started to get better and more confident with what I could do and see what it took to be at that level.
I came in with 10 freshmen, and eight of us ended up transferring out. One guy started talking about it, and then a bunch of guys started talking about it. It was kind of like this mass movement. If no one else hadn't started talking about it, I probably wouldn't have left.
I was a little more nervous to be honest just because that was my first action stopping and going. There is a new drug called adrenaline that comes when you play and that adrenaline really helped me not feel any pain and get out there and go.
