"James "Jim" Ray Hines" is a retired United States/American track and field athlete, who held the World record progression 100 m men/100 m world record for 15 years. He was the first Sprint (running)/sprinter to officially break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters with fully automatic timing, running an electronically timed 9.95 to win the Athletics at the 1968 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metres/1968 Olympics at 1968 in athletics/altitude in Mexico City.

This was before the days when kids as young as that were actually traveling. You didn't go to Texas to play basketball.
