I thought we could get something from the game and we battled well until quality shone through near the end. Unfortunately that quality came from Peterborough.

He started and finished his career as a player in Ireland, but made most of his professional appearances in the England/English The Football League/Football League at Stockport County, where supporters elected him as a member of the Hall of Fame. Gannon began his management career at Dundalk, before becoming manager of Stockport County in December 2005. Following his redundancy in April 2009, he then went on to manage Motherwell, Peterborough United, and Port Vale, before returning to Stockport in November 2011.
