I thought we might have a tough time with the wind blowing like it was. It helped dry off the field after the sun came out so it worked out for us.

You come off a long trip where you don't get to take grounders or get any time in the batting cages and you're going to come out a little flat. I think playing all of these next three days are going to help us.

I'm going to have to start making some decisions right now about where I'm gong to put some guys who are going to be playing the rest of the time. The tournaments are to get kids a lot of at-bats. You find out who needs some work and who belongs in there.

We've been coming from behind all year. We thought it might be that way with Hale throwing because he gave us such a hard time last year.

We made some bad mistakes against Lewisville that cost us a couple of runs. (Flynn) threw well enough to win that game. He threw only 68 pitches in seven innings. That's an outstanding performance.

He threw right at 105 pitches. But he didn't want to come out. He wanted to finish it up. I thought he had a really good game.

Playing with the wind blowing out we knew anything hit to the left side would be hard to handle. I decided we weren't going to have a lot of signals and just take advantage of the situation by swinging away.

The guys who did real well for us are the guys who will be pitching in district. I more or less know who's going to be playing at each spot and where I might be switching some kids out.

This was a big deal for a lot of the kids to get a chance to play. I just thought these kids would compete a little better than they did. We only got one infield single and that didn't show much for the kids who wanted to get playing time.
