"Jerome Patrick Kelly" is an American professional golfer.

Kelly was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Hartford in 1989 and turned professional later that year, but didn't make it onto the PGA Tour until 1996. This followed a successful 1995 season on the second tier Nike Tour, when he won two tournaments. His best career year to date is 2002, when he finished fourth on the PGA Tour money list and won the PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii and Advil Western Open.

Kelly won the 2009 Zurich Classic of New Orleans with a two-foot par on the final hole, beating three players by one stroke (Charlie Wi, Rory Sabbatini, and Charles Howell III). It had been seven years since his last win.

Kelly has been featured in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking.

Kelly was an all-city ice hockey selection in high school while playing for Madison East High School/Madison East and he has said that his hockey background may have hurt his golf early in his career, because of the aggressiveness it encourages him to bring to his game.

Just play well and the scores will come. I showed that today.

I was tempted to use my 3-iron again after I three-putted two straight greens.

I sat on the 18th and watched it all unfold. To see a true gentleman like that and what he's done for the game, it did move me quite a bit. Those are the types of feelings I want to take with me. I don't want to be a miserable, old, crusty man. I want to know I had a good career out there.

Winning here would be that much more special, but a win is a win. I don?t care where it is.

I was thinking to myself yesterday, 'You know, I'm 3-over and I still love the golf course,'.

You get a course like this where it's really long for a guy like me. Phil can shoot at a lot of pins, but there's not that many times out there I have less than a 7-iron. . . . What I don't want to do is chase long drives, but I'm mature enough that I stopped doing that a long time ago.

It's a great golf course and I don't think we play any better on Tour, period.

I'm trying not to beat myself up, just stick to my game plan. I missed plenty of shots the last couple of days, but I've accepted them. That's something I haven't done much, and I've really done the last two tournaments. I really hope the mind-set continues.

To be able to meet the families; it absolutely drives me nuts to see the tears in their eyes as they see what is often their first home going up.
