One of the things I really like about this event is how it gets people together. I think relays keep more people involved and interested in how your teammates are doing.

A lot of kids came out and were excited about it. I think they're really going to work hard for him and it's going to be a good year.

He's lived here in the community since he's been done with basketball. He owns a business and his wife's from here and now he has three small children, so he's always been around. ... It's always been something that's been in the back probably of everybody's mind, the possibility of him coaching someday.

He was put in a tough position. We've got a bunch of young kids without much varsity experience. But they're playing really well right now.

There are so many ups and downs to this event. You see a different kind of pain on each person's face as they're running.

I love football and have a passion to help kids learn and see them grow and develop. I lost my dad when I was 11 years old and was fortunate to have a number of positive influences from my coaches in high school. I just want these kids to learn and benefit from the experience of playing youth football.

The Grapevine is a trail section that's 13.4 miles long with an elevation gain of 2,914 feet. Because it's a trail, there is no vehicle assistance on that leg.

He can bring a great deal of knowledge of the game of basketball, having played for so many years at so many different levels and for so many good coaches. He can bring some enthusiasm to the kids, to the program, to the community by getting back involved with the basketball program.
