He hasn't pitched in a week and I wanted to get him as much work as I could before spring break. He did a great job. His curve was working better late than early. When he got it breaking, he really kept Lincoln off balance.

Sometimes you got to take advantage of what they give you. They gave us some wild pitches and let our runners advance.

Our top four hitters, if they don't get going, it's hard for us to get going as a team. When they get going for us, we play well, and when they struggle, we struggle.

We hadn't played all of spring break, so I was kind of worried about that. But I was proud the way we showed up today.

This was big. To lose seven kids from last year, and have a bunch of sophomores step in and play. That's outstanding. I can't say enough about the effort.

It's good for them to come out the way they did. I am just proud the way they showed up today. I had a couple players gone and a couple of them stepped up and played really well for us.

We hit the ball extremely well from top to bottom. The kids came to play today. ...Our first five are real solid. But our six, seven, and eight hitters hit the ball well today, too. We saw the ball well and we hit it well.

We didn't play real well in that first game. It wasn't really bad, but we just weren't very aggressive at the plate like they've been taught to be.

We just committed too many errors against a good team. Give Greenland credit, they were able to take advantage of it. Every team has one of these days and I guess we were due for one.
