We have some discretionary funds based on need or merit. We thought the need for this program was there because of the growing Hispanic population in Logansport schools.
Progress toward opportunities to learn in a setting designed for higher education takes a giant step forward. The college and the community will have an institution of higher learning to be proud of in the future.
Whenever I talk with community groups about how to blend the community with the diverse population we have here, the language barrier is always the No. 1 obstacle. It seems to be holding the community back; we want them to be able to embrace the diversity that's here.
It makes one feel like, you know, you're right there in the action.
