Plan B offers women a last chance to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. Instead of making this last chance more widely available, this administration wants to punish women by making them pay for having sex.

That doesn't mean it's not an important option. Not every method fits every woman. Some women do like it.

This non-decision is further evidence that the FDA has allowed politics to trump science - especially now that the process is 'rule-making,' which always ultimately stops at the White House.

It has generated a ton of publicity, and that almost surely has a consequence of increasing awareness - and awareness is still the biggest barrier to use.

It was not very effective, especially among women who already have given birth to a child.
