We saw (Broughton) play on Tuesday and we knew they had a very sophisticated offense. We had to make some adjustments at halftime and play better defense in the second half. When we play hard defensively, that transforms into (offensive opportunities).

It doesn't matter who we play. The county teams are such good teams so if it had been Conley, it would have been the same approach.

Coming in we knew they were a little down. So our emphasis today was for us to get better as a team because it's postseason play.

Before big games, I'd call him to talk about the other team. He had to lead the team and sometimes, players listen to their peers a lot more then their coaches. He became our glue. The bigger the game, the more we depended on Perry.

Jon helped a lot. We told the guys in the locker room that they had to pick up some of the weight (Shepherd usually carries). Fortunately, we played good enough defense to take care of it.

We just never got in sync tonight. It was just one of those games, where we just went through the whole game that way. Even in that last period, we picked up defensively but we still never got into it offensively.
