It stinks. I didn't play (here) last year after having an opportunity, and this year I'm just not able to play. It's really frustrating. There aren't two tournaments I'd rather play than this and Hartford. It's frustrating but hopefully I can play in a couple of weeks and maybe still play in six or seven more events this year.

I have kind of mixed emotions about (my rookie year). On one hand, I've kept my card for next year, which is basically a huge relief and a huge accomplishment. It's not an easy thing to do for a rookie.

I played here last year in the cold and wind, and it was a nightmare. I think I shot 80 the first round. It's nice to come out to the desert and get some warm air and no wind.

The (placement of) pins are a lot easier on Thursday. And when the greens dry out, as they should this week, it's only going to get harder.

I tried to hit balls, but I couldn't do it. I just don't want to run the risk of aggravating it.

I just couldn't swing it past probably 70 percent. I hit a couple of wedge shots and didn't feel good. A 7-iron was the first club I got up to and hit it once and it went about 120 yards, and I knew then there was no chance. I'm going to withdraw right now.
