Jake Plummer
FameRank: 6

"Jason Steven "Jake" Plummer" is a former professional American football/football player, a quarterback for ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft, and spent his first six seasons with the Cardinals and the last four with the Denver Broncos. Plummer played college football at Arizona State Sun Devils football/Arizona State University.

His nickname, "Jake the Snake," was given to him as a tribute to professional wrestling/professional wrestler, Jake Roberts/Jake "the Snake" Roberts. Coincidentally, Roberts adopted that nickname as a tribute to his favorite NFL player, former Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler, who was nicknamed "the Snake."

Plummer joined the Pac-12 Network in 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season/2013 as a studio analyst for college football.

You are going to make mistakes and you hope that they are not big ones. I'm going to come out fighting as I always have. Whatever someone is saying doesn't matter to me. The only thing for me is playing the best I can and doing what is best for the team.

It means nothing unless we go deep in the playoffs and, hopefully, go all the way.

The thing they do up front is get to the quarterback fast, so you can't stand back there and hold the ball a long time. . . . They don't let you really get set back there for too long.

They were pretty injured when we played them.

One of our goals was to win the division. We won the division. We wanted to get a playoff game at home. We got a playoff game at home. Those are all steps toward our ultimate goal, to win it all. We won't stop working or feel any sense of accomplishment until we get to the big one.

Then the next thing you know, they're right in your face. That's part of what they do.

We've had good years and lost in the first round the past two years. We got a first-round bye, so that's not going to happen. We know we got a game at home and a good chance to win (here). We're not done working yet.

The guys up front have done an awesome job all year. We know people are going to come after you. That's just how it is.

When I saw Carson Palmer go down, I knew he was done. I didn't think of anything other than his injury. Nothing about the Pro Bowl.
