You always want power, but you can pitch around power. I'd rather have a good fundamental team that can steal bases, get the bunt down, hit with runners in scoring position when it's 2-2 in the seventh. I like this team's ability to execute when it matters.

I guess it was my idea.

This year has been a lot more fun. It's neat to have my own players in the program. The freshman class has been great, and the people who have been here are receptive to doing new things.

I guess I stayed here long enough, paying my dues, and finally made my way home.

Brian gave me so much freedom to make decisions - to fail, succeed and learn - and, obviously, he knows the game.

This morning we said we're going to play small ball if we have to. We need to execute and move runners over and find a way to score. Usually we would want Aimee to score a runner at second herself. But we put on the bunt, it was an awesome bunt and got the runners moved.

Danielle is our Felix Hernandez. Caitlin is our Jamie Moyer.

She's dominating. She has so much talent that you forget that she's young and sometimes she's going to make rookie mistakes. But she's very powerful.
