We came out fast, ... (Then) we missed some execution, had some penalties, missed a few deep balls. Maybe I'm throwing it a hair too early. I don't want to take a sack.

I am out there being the same person that I have always been, knowing that I have to perform. It doesn't matter if you are 1, 2, or 3. You have to still go out there, make the right decisions and make the plays.

This isn't my first rodeo, ... People ask me questions like how things are going and how's the competition. It's not like I haven't been through it before. There's nothing you are going to show me right now, besides 105-degree practices, that I haven't seen before.

I've been through a lot in my career, ... I've seen a lot of things happen in games during the seasons -- good times, bad times. I've had a lot of adversity I've dealt with in my career. I know we're going to go through that this year. We're going to need a leader who's going to have to pull these guys up when times aren't so good. I've been through a lot, and I am just ready to take control.

You know what, it doesn't matter to me. I'm approaching it the same way. ... You've got to still go out there and make the right decisions and make the plays.

They've all run the right routes and been in the right spots, but we've just missed.

It doesn't matter to me. I know that I am getting the reps with the No. 1s, and if I was still going with the 2s, I would be doing the same thing.

I've been through them a bunch of times, and every competition is different, ... I just have to go out and practice and prepare as if I'm the starter, and hopefully that's good enough to be the starter and lead the team.

We just missed some deep balls.
