Probably, that was the best start in the last month by any of our starting eight pitchers. To hold a team like that, with the kind of offense they have, to three runs - it's outstanding.

Too many early errors. It wasn't nerves, that's for sure. It was just one of those nights. If anything, I think the defense was too relaxed. We just played five high-intensity games (against Washington), and it just wasn't there tonight.

If we had lost tonight, it's basically like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, when there's one kid left and you know he's going to hit the spot. You don't want to get to that point. It's always nice to beat a great ballclub.

The whole decision was based on Lovell. The way his ball moves, I was afraid they (Florence's hitters) were going to start taking pitches and getting walks. With the power they have over there, we didn't want to be in that situation.

But that's why, ... when you say 'baseball' you put the word 'team' right after it. In my opinion, I have the best team in this league - from the owner right down to the bat boys.

That's the way it could be. And we're the guys who hope it's done before (that final series). Right now, there's four teams in the East playing hard, but it's ours to lose and theirs to win. They're the ones chasing us, and that changes things.

He has three beautiful changeups - ones that I wouldn't have wanted to face when I was playing. He can spot that change wherever he wants it and he was just on.

That's what happens when you're lucky enough to land a John Ramistella on your team. He will take it upon himself to get the job done.

Perry certainly did his part. He was outstanding.
