Our objective has always been third and when we get there, we'll look at second place. These next games are extremely important. The third, fourth and fifth place teams are playing really well right now and if you lose two or three in a row, it could really drop you down in the standings.

We will find out Saturday night how close we are to Niagara Falls. This is a key game for us.

It's a credit to his character that he would be back the very next night ready to play. He showed up Saturday night and refused to sit out. This kid never takes a night off.

We got off to a great start and I'm very happy with the win and the way we played. I give a lot of credit to Wheatfield. They are a hard working team and they never give up. They have a strong work ethic and are very committed to back checking. Their goaltender also played well in the second and third periods.

I thought we played extremely well. We were well prepared and the guys were focussed. We easily could have won the game, but I am comfortable with how we played.

It was a natural decision. Brent has developed into a good leader and has taken on the that role since the beginning of training camp.

In the third period, we generated some great scoring chances. It was good to see that we continued to press through the defensive trap set up by the Falcons in the final period. In the past, we would struggle to generate offense when go against the trap.

All three players have a lot of poise and are strong leaders. Matt and Shane are both Stoney Creek residents and while they had opportunities to play elsewhere this season, they both chose to stay and play for their hometown.

Shane never takes a night off. He's the type of player that will go to battle every time he's on the ice. He comes to every game ready to play, and has been an integral part of our team's success this season.
