"Gianfranco Zola", Order of the British Empire/OBE, OMRI/Ufficiale OMRI is an Italian former Association football/footballer, who played predominantly as a Forward (association football)/forward, and current manager of Cagliari Calcio/Cagliari.

He spent the first decade of his playing career playing in Italy, most notably with S.S.C. Napoli/Napoli, alongside Diego Maradona and Careca, where he was able to win the Serie A 1989-90/Serie A title, and at Parma F.C./Parma, where he won the Italian Supercup and the 1994-95 UEFA Cup/UEFA Cup. He later moved to English side Chelsea F.C./Chelsea, where he was voted the Football Writers' Association/Football Writers' Player of the Year in the 1996–97 in English football/1996–97 season. During his time at the club, he won the 1997-98 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup/UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, the UEFA Supercup, two FA Cup/FA Cups, the Football League Cup/League Cup, and the FA Community Shield/Community Shield. In 2003 he was voted Chelsea's greatest player ever. He was capped 35 times for Italy national football team/Italy from his debut in 1991, appearing at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, where Italy finished in second place, and Euro 96.

I think Chelsea players play lovely football but sometimes you do not get much joy from watching their game because the other team is not playing how they normally play.

To get a really good game you have to have two (teams) playing, sometimes teams are very compact and scared to play against Chelsea - so they sit back. Obviously in those conditions the game doesn't express the best.
