Our philosophy was to maximize the water views, to keep the open space that's typical of carriage houses and to keep the feeling of a Tuscan farmhouse, which is obviously what the architect in 1910 tried to do.

They had done the bare minimum to make it a house. We tried to eliminate everything from 1950 and take it going back to 1910 and doing everything that should have been done in 1950.
