We had opportunities tonight to make plays, make pitches, and get hits. They just got more timely hits than we did.

We played well the second inning through the sixth, just not the first and the seventh. Our pitchers kept us in the game. Wesley (McCullough) kept his composure in the first.

Those were big, clutch hits. That's exactly what we haven't gotten in the playoffs the last couple of years.

We have to regroup and get ready for tomorrow. More importantly we have to get ready for our division game Monday against Columbus.

This reminded me of April and a playoff atmosphere. It's early, but we've got Columbus Monday, and you need games like tonight to prepare for your region games.

We couldn't get into a rhythm offensively. Cox had a lot to do with that.

Just like everybody else, we want them to throw strikes and let the defense make plays. They've all been working hard on location and hitting their spots, and we feel confident no matter who's on the mound.

Porch is the best we've seen. He's got an outstanding fastball. He's able to get any pitch over at any time. He did a great job mixing up his pitches and keeping us off balance.

Defensively we feel like we're going to be solid up the middle. Teams like to put pressure on your defense, and the important thing for us is to make the routine plays.
