I think the pros and cons of being in business with family is you have each other's back. You have to have mechanisms for when there is conflict to resolve it in ways that don't do irreparable damage to the relationship.

We spent a lot of time defining and redefining bowling. Traditionally, people have thought about bowling as kind of mom and pop, Laverne and Shirley-ish. We've brought a whole different sense of style and a charm to it. It's very sexy.

As women, we're generally faced with the challenges of living, including having a family, a career and pressing issues that sometimes keeps us from moving forward and achieving our dreams.

The response from the community has been overwhelming. There's a huge sense of pride that there are two African-American women doing a project like this.

Everyone can bowl. It's not age or gender specific.
