We've undergone a lot. But I think there was more adversity going on outside our group than there was inside. We just kept on moving forward with our jobs.
I think we're ready. I am in a pretty special place, and this is a special moment. There's a great opportunity here to let our spirit shine, and that's what it's all about.
I gave it my best. My journey alone and what I've gone through, I'm pleased with the way things developed. I hope people see that and are inspired to follow their own dreams.
Right now, yes, it is a little hard to swallow. But I'll find the positive in all this to propel me forward and gain strength from it and come out stronger the next time.
Somebody's dream was taken away. I try to put myself in those shoes, and I can't. I really try, and I can't. He's still a part of us and he's with us. In our minds, he's an Olympian. He's our teammate.
The Canadians are phenomenal sliders. They have a lot of experience. They took to this track very well. They deserve a lot of credit.
