If in the next three months there are no more new cases, international norms prescribe that we will be declared disease-free. Surveillance of the virus will continue for next three years and then the disease will be presumed to have been eliminated from the country.

The Indian way of cooking chicken and eggs does not transmit the virus. In any case, quarantine imposed in the infected areas will not allow meat from that area to be sold elsewhere.
