I further noted that given (that) the Governor's son was a subject of the alleged misdeeds, his chairing of the Board meeting would either stifle the discussions or generate bitterness between those wishing to ask the necessary questions and the Governor, and such an outcome would not be good for the institution.

I observed that it would be difficult to have an open debate on the allegations when the person who was being accused of misdeeds was the same person chairing the meeting.
