We're looking forward to a game. We're hoping to play. It seems like it's been a month. Once you start playing, that's a long time to not be playing.

I'm obviously pleased to go 8-0 but more pleased that we were tested in game two and didn't use the ?I'm tired' excuse.

People might not believe this, but I actually enjoyed the game at least after it was over. There was strategy. There were adjustments. It was a game like we'll have to play in the regional tournament. We executed some things that two weeks ago we couldn't have done.

Lincoln Trail is pretty good. They worked hard to get the field ready and I went down early with them. They really wanted to get the games in. They worked hard to get the diamond ready. They played two games without making an error, five less than we made. On the positive side, we are finding a way to win.

It's hard to win when you strike out 12 times. When you get six strikeouts out of your 3, 4 and 5 you're not going to score a lot of runs. It's hard to beat out a strikeout. It's dependent on the catcher missing the ball. They were hitting lasers and we were hitting air.

I knew it was too good to stay that way. You just find a way to win. A lot of that comes through the intensity of practice and what we put them through. People don't understand if you haven't been through that in practice, it's hard to get through it in a game. We probably couldn't have played any worse, but we found a way.

My first thought was this might not be a good day and that thought became true as the day went along.

The only thing that will save them is we don't have lights.

We got three runs and four hits in the first inning and after that I thought we just participated.
