I think there is one issue that really plays big in the Republican Party right now, and that's morality in government.

This isn't Bill Clinton territory anymore. The issues have changed since 9/11, and they are no longer domestic ones - the issues that governors have been so good at dealing with, the ones that enabled a guy like Bill Clinton to win.

There are no Iowa miracles. Great things aren't happening in our state. It's good for some people. But the governor isn't lighting any fires.

The race is a jumble. There are half a dozen candidates who are in double digits, low double digits in the polls. Nobody's a front-runner.
