Every time I would walk in, I'd make sure my name was there. I still do to this day. I knew whether I came off the bench or started, I would do everything I could.
People have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome. It's amazing.
We talked about coming out strong for 40 minutes. That's what we tried to do tonight.
I would have liked us to finish in first place and me play a little better individually. I'm happy where we are at with the tournament coming up. I like where we stand. I'm just feeling really good about the games coming up.
If you are not ready and anticipate what's coming, you fall behind a little. I think I picked up a lot later than what they liked and what I liked last year. I started to get comfortable at the end of last year. Coming into this year, I felt really confident.
I think my mom (Kathy Nguyen) enjoyed it more than I did. It felt so good to know I gave something for my mom and grandmother to be proud of, because growing up I gave them such a hard time. It was great to do something to make them happy, for them to tell their friends. Anything I can do to put a smile on mom's face, I love to do.
I can overcome adversity with God in my life.
Oh yeah, there have been some pretty bad places. I expected that.
