We swung at way too many bad pitches in both games. We need stronger fundamentals at the plate. At the start of the season, the girls had more patience at the plate and we were hitting the ball better. We're just going after too many bad pitches.
It was nice to finally get a big inning. We got three big hits in that inning, and we also had some girls get on base with walks. When you get runners on base, good things can happen.
We hit the ball a little better than what is shows. A couple of times we hit the ball right at their defense. Plus, they made some big plays when they had to. It was a difficult day for us. But we'll bounce back.
That was a great call by Garrett at third base and some good running by Miller. It took some guys, but we got it done.
This time it was a lot tougher for us. I don't know if it was the spring break or what, but we were flat-footed to start the game. It took us a while to get into the swing of the game. We got better and better as the game went on, and that's what saved us.
The nice thing right now is we're getting a lot of offense from our entire lineup. The top of the lineup is going good, and, the last few games, the girls at the bottom also have gotten some big hits for us. The girls are doing a good job at the plate.
We played a solid game on all fronts against East. We brought pitching, hitting and fielding all together to get a big conference win.
