Joy's been an outstanding addition to our program. Joy will be an outstanding coach for Hurley basketball, and we have such an outstanding program. We're already organized down to the fourth grade again.

We just couldn't get anything to fall. We'll need to shoot better than that in the tournament.

Eleven of 12 girls scored and our starters only played three minutes in the second half. I think accepting the trophy before the game really excited the girls. I was really pleased with their intensity as we head into the playoffs next week.

We're happy to get a win. The girls battled against a good team. These are the kind of games we need before the tournament. We got behind and came back. The girls now know they can do that.

There's not a better back court, I believe, as far as their quickness, experience, defense and scoring. We've got the two best guards in northern Wisconsin. Both of them are very quick and their speed on offense wears the other team down on defense. When the other team gets worn down, that can cause more turnovers.

Jaclyn had a good game for us. Everybody played well and got a lot of playing time.

I'm so proud of Kathleen and the way she played. She really played well.

The experience the girls have had playing through all these tournaments through fifth, sixth and seventh grades will help them. I've been involved with these girls since third, fourth grade. If I wasn't the coach, I was taking care of the paper work. Nine of the 10 girls played on the summer team. The girls are still growing up and learning as we go.

We haven't won a regional here for 26 years. I think the girls are really ready and focused. They don't like to lose and if everything goes well, I don't think a trip to sectionals is out of the question.
