We started out slow on offense, but I thought our defense held us in. It could have been a 20-point quarter, but we held them to 8. We played a lot better in the second quarter. We loosened up and got it down to a manageable deficit. It was only four a halftime.

We're an immature team and you saw the difference tonight. We have a lot of things to fix before we face the Mountaineers.

The big thing is we were able to stop them from running down the floor. We got back on defense, didn't give them any cheap buckets. We made them set up and call the play and we were able to defend those plays pretty well.

We just didn't play hard, it's as simple as that. They worked harder than we did.

We got some baskets in close and that opened up things on the outside. We came out of the gate strong, something we haven't been able to do much this year.
