The fact Rich has been sick (with food poisoning) the last few days and lost a little weight, well, we've got time. This won't hurt him.

I think he feels it more than we can see it. I don't see anything dramatic, and that's fine with me. If he can throw the ball exactly the way he did last year and stay healthy, we'll be fine.

I think we've got to be as patient as we can be. When he can whip his arm correctly and with full speed, he'll be ready. But I think it'll be a pretty slow process.

He feels like he can't whip his arm like he's used to. We'll give him as much time as he needs.

He came out healthy. We'll see how he is tomorrow. That will determine what we do next. He threw the baseball adequately for somebody who has been out a month. The good thing is he didn't have to walk off the mound with a strain.

He's shown he's ready to among the elite starting pitchers. His stuff is there. He is definitely going to be one of the leaders of this staff for the next few years.

I'd say he's done just about everything the right way so far.

The nice thing about it is that, with the exception of Esteban, everyone else was here last year. So everyone knows the drill, what we're doing, what we're trying to do. And Esteban's a veteran, so he'll be fine.

It would be hard to come back and start and expect five innings and 80 pitches.
