Until we make some changes, individually and as a team with our attitude and our working hard ... it's not like we don't have that at all, but something's not there. We've got a missing link somewhere.

I thought we didn't choose very good pitches to swing at. We were anxious to hit and didn't make good choices at the plate.

It's sure not for lack of effort, and it's not that it doesn't matter to them. It does. It's just not happening. And I don't know why.

We came out and hit the ball great in the first inning. It wasn't like they were making errors, we were just hitting well.

It felt great. You'd have thought we won district.

We just seemed to keep digging a bigger hole for ourselves today. Abilene High hit the ball well, and I'll give them credit for that. There's nothing you can say when they're hitting the ball well. But we had some opportunities we didn't really take hold of.

I'm still happy with how we're competing. That's been important and, I think, kept our team together.
