My plan was to go hard but I got boxed in early. I really think I wasted a lot of energy on the first lap, but once I got out I was comfortable.

We went out really fast. When I saw the split I figured nobody would be there (with me). Assistant coach (Bill) Jennings was yelling how far ahead I was. Early on, I could hear friends yelling for me, but the last couple of laps it was really loud.

I definitely got confidence from that race in particular, but I was nervous coming in here. In New York, I was the one following and today I was the one ahead so it was a big difference. Once my coach signaled I was ahead by 10 seconds, I pretty much knew I had it.
