She has worked for the United States Geological Survey and the NASA/National Aeronautics and Space Administration. As member of the technical staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, she was the last project manager of NASA's Galileo spacecraft/Galileo mission to Jupiter

The engineers had to redesign the software, reprogram the tape recorder and had to get Galileo to do data compression.
