It's an opportunity for us, as educators, to make the connections that the world's a bigger place than Olney, Illinois, and on the flip side, even though they are in Olney, Illinois, they can have an impact on other parts of the country or on other parts of the world.

Now that I've come to UC, I realize how supportive this university is of the military, ... ROTC classrooms are new and the programs are well funded. People really seem to care.

I was really moved when we received a standing ovation at the football game. It showed me how much people understand and care about what we are doing over there.
